Combat Mission: From Pinned to Berserk with the Evade Command

This British infantry section should have used some scouting. But shoot happens and now they have blundered through the field of fire of a German HMG.

The German HMG (grey icon in the background) opens up mercilessly. My British infantry section, moving from left to right,  gets pinned immediately.

The evade command (yellow arrow) is designed to get troops out of trouble in a hurry. In this case, when I hit that command the troops get directed towards a house which is out of sight from the enemy (the yellow line is the route and the white sphere is the waypoint).

Instead of letting my British infantry to move towards that house, I dragged the waypoint towards the other side of the street.

Despite their suppressed status, my men run forward. The losses are tremendous, but I never said it was going to be pretty.
I learnt about the use (or maybe abuse?) of the evade command in the Battlefront.com forums and it has helped me to keep the momentum of my infantry attacks. Those last yards of the assault are often the most critical.

Cheers,
