Flashpoint Latvia Episode 4 - Falcon 4 BMS - Recon

This series is completely fictional. No political point is intended.

Things are shaping up for an unwanted conflict with Russia. SIGINT has reported comms consistent with administrative movement of a Russian armor force in the Pskov Oblast, Russia. Two F-16AMs from the Royal Danish Air Force stationed in Siauliai Airbase (Lithuania) were tasked with a reconnaissance mission of this Russian force.

One of the two Danish F-16AMs on their way to the area of interest.

Combat Mission Final Blitzkrieg - Assault Gun Tactics

Although it was clear to me that assault guns like the StuG IIIG are not the same as self-propelled artillery (Wespe, Hummel vehicles), I think I was utterly wrong about storming and breaking through a defensive line with a combined infantry-assault gun team moving up simultaneously.

The StuG IIIG has a narrow field of fire and lacks the ability to shift it rapidly as tanks do. Unexpected fire from the flanks is one of the most scary liabilities of these assault guns.

Command Modern Naval and Air Operations - Old Grudges Never Die (DLC)

Fighting armed religious radicals in the fence-less backyard of a former acquaintance who is now politically bankrupt is like crashing a bar fight crowded with drunkards. Welcome to present-day Syria!

Welcome to yet another winner DLC for the awesome Command Modern Naval Operations. The Old Grudges Never Die DLC requires just the base game (i.e. Northern Inferno not required). Priced at US $2.99, the DLC is a Syria/ISIS/Russia/Turkey/NATO single scenario that lasts 24 hours of simulated time. The player can take command of either the Russian or the Turkish forces.

Flashpoint Latvia Episode 3 - Arma 3- Use of Light Armored Vehicles in a Hybrid Warfare Environment

Intelligence Officer's Comments
The recent hostile actions in eastern Latvia by guerrillas sympathizing with the Russian government have overstretched the Latvian Land Armed Forces. The need of increasing patrolling and shows of force have become evident after several skirmishes between ethnic Russian guerrillas and Latvian National Guard detachments. These skirmishes had consistently resulted in Latvian National Guards casualties. The very nature of the Latvian National Guard -light infantry with no significant heavy weapons support- hampers their ability to deliver effective fires on an elusive and fast moving enemy.

Scourge of War Waterloo: Quatre Bras - Review

A smaller battle than Waterloo, packed with historical quality and nail-biting Napoleonic warfare, Quatre Bras is not only a great wargame but a tour de force on generalship and history.

DCS SA342 Gazelle - The Hovering Command Post

In this mission, I'm piloting a French Gazelle and our mission is to coordinate the establishment of a Georgian Armed Forces outpost near the Batumi Airport. Dismounted opposition is expected: insurgents armed with small arms and RPGs at OBJs Charleroi and Dinant.

After a few final words regarding coordination and other logistics, I am back to the Gazelle with the commanding officer on the copilot seat. In the background, the convoy (2 LAVs, 1 Humvee and 2 trucks transporting infantry) departs from Batumi.

Arma 3 Apex - Preview

Arma 3 Apex was officially released on 11Jul16, but most of the content released was available through the so-called "Dev Branch".

With a new and slick interface, a new map and new armed virtual characters it shows that the developers do care about how the current and future users do and will interact with the game for years to come. The core values that made Arma a success, like the readily available mission edition, modding and the wide open areas of operation were not left behind.
