I just played the fist scenario of this standalone (or DLC if you already have the main engine in your hard drive) naval/air war game and I'm (again) floored by the quality of WarfareSim's offerings.
I have been exploring several options to create scenarios about fire support observation planning and how it relates to a given scheme of maneuver. I am still not there, but I had fun with this draft of a mission and I thought about sharing it.
Have you seen those guys going in and hitting all their targets with Maverick missiles in just one pass? Not me, that's for sure.
For starters, I am a bit too fond of the targeting pod (TPOD) to acquire targets. After un-caging the Mavericks and selecting them (sensor select forward in the stick) the TPOD turns down.
In this video (make sure to see it in YouTube for better resolution) I start the Mavericks first and then I use the TPOD. It works like a charm.
A bit more gameplay of Wars of Succession, including commentary.
Wars of Succession is a great game. I could have benefited from some tutorials and a couple more of those small scenarios, like the one I'm playing in this video.
I can't believe how Eugene gave up on Mantua and retreated to his liar after a single fight with Villeroi ...
Somebody used this trick against me in a PBEM game a while ago. It's not cheap in ammo and potentially dangerous to friendlies around the targeted area. But who knows? Maybe one day I can use it in a real game!
Welcome to the crazy world of the early 1700's. Wars of Succession (an AGEOD game produced in association with El Gran Capitan and published by Matrix/Slitherine) has been out since a few days already. In this first look, let's see what this game brings into your virtual war room.
Not feeling like playing a campaign or a relatively large scenario? No time to edit a small scenario?
The "Close Engagement Mode" has been around since the beginning of the year, and it allows you to fight a smallish battle without the editing overhead.
