Battle is all good and dandy and then all of the sudden I realize that I'm commanding the Germans and fighting like a British!

Graviteam Tactics: Raid - Book Time!

A short video about books worth noting for the historical aspects of the operation depicted in the Raid DLC for Graviteam Tactics Mius Front.

I am playing the Raid operation, but after getting the two books mentioned in the video I'm thinking about re-starting the thing all over. Now that I think about it, a raid should be conducted without too much fuss about lines of communications. What's your take on it?

Combat Mission Shock Force 2 - Demo is Out

A demo loaded with a grand total of 6 hours 40 minutes of simulated tactical combat is now available.

Featuring US Army, US Marines, British and German forces, the demo will transport the player to combat in both open terrain and built-up areas. For those veterans who played the original Shock Force (2007), the cumulative changes that the game engine has gone through will be very evident.

Another game where I didn't grasp its quality back then. Steel Fury Kharkov 1942 (circa 2008), from Graviteam.

A superb armor simulation, fully loaded with a true combined arms environment. Although the more recent Steel Armor Blaze of War has a more complete user interface and graphics, the good old Steel Fury has a lot to offer for the repentant virtual armor commander in me.

Armored Brigade is Coming! - A Video Preview

Armored Brigade -shown in the video below in a beta status- is perfect for detailed and realistic tactical combat during a Cold War gone hot. A very well designed game, pleasant to the eyes and ears, featuring full-fledged combined arms action in battlefields of up to 15x15 km.

Battles of North Africa 1941 - Preview and Thoughts

I wanted to share a preview and gameplay notes about the upcoming title in the Panzer Battles series from John Tiller/Wargame Design studio.

The new addition is a tour of force in early WWII desert armored warfare. Don't let the one year time bracket (just 1941) fool you, the amount and variety of scenarios is great and the tactical situations have something for everybody. From sweeping maneuvers across wide and open terrain, to attacks on prepared positions. They even included scenarios from the invasion of Crete, for those more infantry-oriented.

Armored Task Force (ProSim Company, Shrapnel Games) Sunday at my command bunker. Practicing fires coordination with my three self propelled artillery batteries.

Arma 3 - US Marines Company Attack

A quick scenario featuring a US Marines company, devoid of support weapons and indirect fire support.

I tried a live stream last week on this very scenario and it was a disaster, it showed the wrong title, the quality was ugly ... Sorry about that.

Combat Mission Fortress Italy - Shocking the Livorno

Another great scenario in Combat Mission Fortress Italy, "Butera Station".

One battalion of the Italian Livorno Division pushing towards the beach head at Gela. A reinforced company-sized patrol of the 3rd US Infantry Division deploys quickly and tries to block the Italians. In this scenario, my poor planning resulted in a nail-biting finale.
