Book and Game: "Command Ops: Battles from the Bulge" and "Kampfgruppe Peiper at the Battle of the Bulge"

I just wanted to show  you the quality of the work you will enjoy when this war game comes out (very soon!). The screenshot is from the "Peiper's Race to the Meuse" scenario ...

You may notice the map above is a bit heavy on the dark tones. This is because the scenario starts at 6:30 a.m.

The scenario is about Kampfgruppe Peiper's march to the Meuse river. At the beginning of the scenario the player has under his command the 3rd Battalion, 2nd SS Panzer Grenadier Regiment, the 1st Battalion of the 1st SS Panzer Regiment and some support units. The rest of the units of the kampfgruppe arrive as reinforcements at a later time in the game.

"Kampfgruppe Peiper at the Battle of the Bulge" is a another fine military history book from Stackpole Publishers. This book is concise but rich in details. The many maps in it make it easy to follow the actions described in the book. The narrative suits perfect for the scenario shown above.
