We had a short lived RO2 server back around launch, but as unstable as it was, it was a bit of a mess--Also we weren't digging the idea of policing it to get everyone playing as a coordinated platoon.
We've got a group that plays world of tanks regularly, they use some real tactics (Even used a battleship formation once) to good effect. A few other guys and myself do some regular PvP in CM:BN. But most of us recently have been playing Wargame:European Escalation together.
So as a full group, we really only do Arma 2. Doesn't mean we take our unit tags off in other games though.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16591251555683319385noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6055491912637469469.post-19571979838253764612012-04-03T07:14:01.859-04:002012-04-03T07:14:01.859-04:00I think mobias nailed it with the speed comment.

The game has a decent command rose system that allows you to command AI quite well including giving flanking and move orders, and the game itself rewards team play.
I'd love to see an actual team of RO2 players use fire and maneuver in a game--which has a rather decent wounding and suppression system that allows you to actually keep an enemy's head down. I've seen some people play as groups, though most games turn into "GUYS, GET INTO B SO WE CAN CAP."Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16591251555683319385noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6055491912637469469.post-82242746692630076872012-03-24T16:48:47.332-04:002012-03-24T16:48:47.332-04:00Shouldn't it read; "Pet Peeve of the week...Shouldn't it read; "Pet Peeve of the week: Red Orchestra 2"?

Just sayin....Route Clearancehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02650480792261909738noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6055491912637469469.post-82201917840263555692012-03-24T10:19:30.205-04:002012-03-24T10:19:30.205-04:00While I am also a stickler/complainer with the lac...While I am also a stickler/complainer with the lack of realism in most modern shooters these days, I will play devil's advocate and theorize that most people would go crazy, in this game especially [with all the rubble] if they were running about planning their next ambush when, whoops, auto-slow kicks in as they have just tread over some bricks or a broken window frame. A majority of the entire map would be in this slow-mo running pace, and ppl would be frustrated, and end up modding it asap. What I DO wish they would change, is the insane amount of speed they model people walking/running..usually nothing close to real life, no chance to strategize or plan attacks, as everyone eventually just runs amok chaotically just trying to shoot the first bad guy that pops up before they get shot. NOT realistic at all...mobiashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04921488046987828877noreply@blogger.com
