Well folks, it was will be a heck of a ride ...

I will leave the blog up a couple of months. Take whatever you want until that time expires. I will remove the blog completely afterwards.

Edit: I am deeply grateful for your support and sorry for this entry. See my explanation above.

WHAT?!? I thoroughly enjoyed reading your blog for a while now. Is there any way to help you change your mind? If not, I want to express my deep appreciation for all the articles you have written and shared with us. Your writing has been interesting, humorous and enjoyable. Thanks for all your work (but I still hope you keep things up and running!).

Dang, I really looked forward to your post's as they were informative and in my honest opinion helped wargamers and simulation lovers learn of new games as we are very neglected with coverage. Thank you for having such a useful blog and it's been very enjoyable.
Best of wishes,
Dylan Winton.

No, you're quitting?? So sad... I will certainly miss all the useful tactical lessions and tips and reviews of new games... :-(

Thanks for all the great posts.

Damn, have never commented much, but you will be missed

That's a real shame. Only just stumbled across this but the mix of ARMA2, Harpoon, Red Pill news, and pretty much everything has been a great read.
Sorry to hear it's going...
Best wishes,
Chris

Oh no, man!!!! I discovered your blog just a few weeks ago and thought I had found a great way to stay up to date with the Sim and Wargame Community and also a very entertaining and competent writing!!!! By far it is the best Blog I ever found on the subject.
Can't you just perhaps reduce the amount of posts, just to fit it better with time and your commitments, even once in a while would be worthwhile! Pls consider that!

I don't agree with your stance on the Tiller/DRM/Wargamer issue, but I DO LIKE your blog, don't close it :)

Please, keep it living!

Don't usually comment on blogs - but have enjoyed your posts - comparing and contrasting the real and simulated in wargames, tactical shooters and combat flight sims.

Your gaming interests seem to match mine and this blog has become a regular must-read.

I'd plead with you to have a rethink and keep it going...

NB: have you thought of posting some tentries from it, or telling people about it at SimHQ? Might be a more receptive audience there...

er...why ?

Another lurker enjoying your site here too... :-(

Anonymous said...

Hm... would be realy sad if this happens. Whats the reason for this?
You may need help writing articles?

Yours truly,

That's some sad news, JC! You blog was one of the very few I visited every day. You are doing a great job to the wargaming community, bringing new games to attention (Red Pill, for instance) and posting a lot of great "food for thought" entries - your ARMA 2 entries made me get back into the game (and led me to buy the British and PMC expansions).

And that series you did on the A-10 and FACing was awesome. And the posts about Angle of Attack had me buying "Stick & rudder".

If you don't feel like keeping it going, then so be it. But have no doubt: your blog will be missed.

Best of luck to you!

That sucks! This is the best wargame blog and I visit here often. I just hope your private life is ok and this is because you're going on to bigger and better things. Keep on truckin', JC, and I wish you all the luck in the world.

Hey JC,
I am late to this party since work has been crazy the last few weeks. Anyway, I am glad that you changed your mind and didn't shut down your blog after all. I make regular visits to Real and Simulated Wars to enjoy your AARs and gaming comments. Keep up the good work!
