Battle- Flight-Worthy, At Last

Sorry for the lack of entries. I have been migrating all my gaming stuff to a new computer. Worst part was the HOTAS. I had old versions of the CH Products drivers and it drove me nuts to figure out what the hell was wrong. I'm not getting any wiser ...

Best part is that I finally got a serious look at TrackIR in ArmA2. During the weekend I played an online game in  some server (great group of tactically-minded guys BTW) and I noticed how much head swiveling was in place.  TrackIR is great for situational awareness and squad/fireteam command.

At last ... time to play.

Cheers,

What server were you playing on? Always looking for good tactical servers. :)

If you get one let us know how the trackir works out for you. Every Trackir owner I've talked to have been happy with their purchase. I'm toying with the idea of getting one myself.

If you just want to try the TrackIr concept out and you have a webcam, take a look at FreeTrack or facetracknoir.

Ey kylania!
I was (IIRC) in the 75th Ranger or something. I'm a bit limited because for some reason my Battleye didn't install correctly (?!). It was a good group. Very cohesive formation and they moved smartly.

Hi db,

I have TrackIR4. Bought it for flight simming and now I can't live without it. I tried in ArmA2 but wasn't convinced. I totally changed my mind now. I heard about FreeTrack and facetracknoir. Have you tried them?

Cheers,

Ooh! The 75th, yeah, they are great guys. I've played with some of them back during ArmA2. Now I mostly just work on editing/scripting and play here or there when I can.

I have TrackIR 4 ProClip using the 5.0 software. It's pretty great once you've got your deadzones set comfortably.

I've tried FreeTrack with Arma and facetracknoir is on my todo list. My webcam is very old/crappy and my old system had enough to do without increasing the burden. Still, trying FreeTrack convinced me of the usefulness of the concept. That and all the happy customers.

Now that I've upgraded my computer TrackIr is next.

Is the ProClip worth it?

I haven't noticed too much difference between the regular reflective clip and ClipPro. But people in the know say there is a huge difference.
